In Greece soldiers (aka Tsoliades) are guarding the Unknown Soldier’s Monument in Syntagma Square too. They are absolutely quiet, standing or changing spots in the traditional way and after their shift they are retreating with soldiers’ assistance. All this time their shift takes place tourists speak to them, take photos with them etc. Tsoliades do not yell at them, nor do they go up and down in a neurotic manner. I feel that this thing with the king’s guards is a little tourist show. If a monument or building is open to people for visiting, then leave them alone to enjoy it. Why the screaming?
